The hospital is typical of many others with a combination of refurbished old buildings and purpose built blocks spread across a large site. In this case, there was an urgent need to address estate planning issues. Initially, Ann Noble Architects undertook a comprehensive condition and functional survey, prior to producing a development control plan for the whole site. Within this context we undertook feasibility studies and development options for pathology, maternity and paediatric services.
